Fortnite players looking to collect Color Bottles as part of the Paint a Toona Fish feature of the game’s Battle Pass may encounter a bit of difficulty in getting started. The reason for this is because if you don’t unlock the Toona Fish Outfit itself within the Battle Pass, you won’t be able to see the Color Bottles in the game.

To explain further, we’ve put together a quick guide on why you may not be seeing the Color Bottles in Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 | Why Are Color Bottles Not Appearing In The Game?

We actually experienced this issue ourselves when we were looking to start collecting Color Bottles in Fortnite. When we jumped into a match and went over to Fort Crumpet, we didn’t see any of the Color Bottles.

Stumped, we returned to the Paint a Toona Fish page to see if there was something we needed to check off there. It was at this point we realized we hadn’t unlocked the Toona Fish Outfit from Page 1 of the Battle Pass.

To unlock the Toona Fish Outfit, all you need to do is visit Page 1 of the Battle Pass and spend 9 Battle Stars.

After the Toona Fish Outfit is unlocked, you should be able to see Color Bottles on the map.

We outline more of the Paint a Toona Fish feature in one of our previous guides, which we recommend reading through. We also have a number of guides on the site that show you where to find Color Bottles at various locations, so once you start seeing Color Bottles pop up on the map, you can reference these guides if you’re ever in need of help.

We hope this helps, and we wish you luck in your quest to track down all 21 Color Bottles in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8!
